PRIMA Scholar
These notes cover every PRIMA Scholar release up to 2.2.1, newest first. Each entry describes what changes for you. The notes leave out changes that only affect how GenAI Skills Academy builds and maintains the product.
Released on 14 October 2026, this version fixes the installer and corrects tool descriptions and documentation. No search or library tool changes how it behaves.
- Marketplace install. You can now add PRIMA Scholar as a Claude Code plugin with
/plugin marketplace add larrygmaguire-hash/prima-scholarand install it with/plugin install prima-scholar@prima-scholar. It then stays installed between sessions, as Installing in Claude Code explains. - Reinstalling keeps your API keys. Re-running
install.shused to deletePUBMED_API_KEY,SEMANTIC_SCHOLAR_KEY,CORE_API_KEYand any other setting from the server entries. It now keeps every existing setting and adds only missing defaults. It also leaves a correct entry alone and copes with a quote mark in a workspace path. - Plugin settings with nothing exported. On the plugin route, a setting you had not exported reached the servers as literal placeholder text, and the library could create a database file with a placeholder name. Every setting now has a default, and an empty library path uses
~/.research-library/library.db. - OpenAlex contact email. An empty

Released on 30 September 2026, this version changes the plugin’s commands, skills and agents and leaves both servers as they were.
- Per-group settings for the literature watch. Any topic group can now set its own sort order, result count and venues. See Literature Watch.
- Papers without abstracts. The watch now tries one title search to find a missing abstract. If none turns up, the new
missing_abstractsetting decides what happens, and the default sets the paper aside in an “Abstract Unavailable” section of the digest. - New default digest folder. The default
digest_diris nowDocumentation/Reports/Literature Watch, a folder that exists in every AI Business OS layout. - Troubleshooting help. The literature watch skill gains rows for CrossRef results that bunch on the last day of the window and for venue filters that find almost nothing.
