Get AI Business OS

Setup

PRIMA Project ManagementCommand: /setup

/setup is the personalisation wizard you run once after the installer finishes. With PRIMA Project Management installed, /setup is the PRIMA Project Management version. It covers everything the AI Business OS version does, and adds a name for the dashboard and a choice of project numbering format. The wizard says it takes about five minutes.

  1. In Claude Code, type /setup in your workspace and press Enter to start the wizard.
  2. Answer each question as Claude asks it, because the wizard asks them one at a time.
  3. Read the summary at the end, and check the details Claude reports back to you.
  4. Say yes when Claude offers to commit the setup, so /sync saves it to git.
# Question Where the answer goes
1 Your company or organisation name CLAUDE.md, integrations.json, workspace.name in state.json
2 Your industry CLAUDE.md
3 A workspace ID, which Claude proposes from your company name for you to confirm CLAUDE.md, workspace.id
4 Your GitHub repository in the form org/repo, such as example-consulting/example-consulting-biz-os, or “none” CLAUDE.md, workspace.githubRepo
5 Where you store large files, and the path to that synced folder CLAUDE.md, integrations.json
6 UK English or US English .claude/rules/content-defaults.md
7 Your calendar app and the calendars to include in the daily briefing integrations.json, selectedCalendars
8 The name Claude should use for you Setup does not write this answer to a file
8a Your name or company name, as it should appear on the dashboard workspace.owner
9 Your project numbering format projectNumbering in integrations.json

Leave question 8a blank if you prefer, and the dashboard shows the workspace name instead.

Claude then works through your six company files in .claude/company/, which cover your overview, team, audiences, voice, brand and industry. Each file opens with a prompt, and Claude asks you that prompt and writes your answer into the file. Say “skip” for any file that does not apply, and Claude leaves its placeholder text in place.

Project IDs default to P001, P002, P003 and so on. You can choose a different prefix such as PRJ, add a hyphen as in PRJ-001, or change the number of digits as in P0001.

Claude only asks this question when your register is empty or holds only the three sample projects that ship with AI Business OS. When you pick a custom format at that point, Claude renames the sample project folders and IDs to match. When your register already holds real projects, Claude keeps their numbering exactly as it is and records that format in integrations.json. Creating a Project explains how new IDs follow the format.

  • .claude/CLAUDE.md: your company name, industry, workspace ID, GitHub repository and storage path, plus today’s date in the customisation log.
  • .claude/company/: your answers to the six company prompts.
  • .claude/config/integrations.json: your company name, the setup date, calendar, storage and numbering settings, and feature switches.
  • .claude/state/state.json: the workspace name, ID, type, repository, dashboard name and selected calendars.
  • .claude/settings.json: permissions for the tools of the integrations you configured, with every other permission left as it was.
  • .claude/rules/content-defaults.md: your choice of UK or US English.

Setup sets the workspace type to client by default. No question asks for the type, so if the workspace is your own, ask Claude to set workspace.type to personal. The type decides the banner at the top of /day and /status. See State Files Explained for every field.

When you run /setup a second time, Claude warns that it will overwrite your current configuration and asks you to confirm. A re-run never renames a project you created. It renames the three sample projects only when they are still the only projects in your register and you choose a different numbering format.

Workspaces set up with AI Business OS 1.x kept company details in a single .claude/CLIENT_PROFILE.md file. When /setup finds that file, and the company files still hold their placeholders, it moves your details into the six company files first. It renames the old file to CLIENT_PROFILE.backup.md so nothing is lost, and leaves state.json, integrations.json and your project folders untouched. Claude then offers to carry on with the rest of setup.

  • Run /day to see your first briefing, described in The Daily Briefing.
  • Create your first project with /newproject, described in Creating a Project.
  • PRIMA Memory gives /resume fuller session recall. The installer adds it when it is part of what you bought, as described in Installing PRIMA Memory.
