/dashboard
/dashboard builds an interactive HTML page from your project register and opens it in your web browser. The page shows project health, task progress, milestones, a timeline and, for projects that have tasks, a map of which tasks depend on which.
When to Use It
Section titled “When to Use It”Use /dashboard when you want to see your projects visually, for example to check deadlines across several projects or to show someone else the state of the work. The page is a snapshot taken when you run the command. Run /dashboard again to see later changes.
How to Run It
Section titled “How to Run It”- Type
/dashboardin the message box at the bottom of the Claude Code panel and press Enter. - Wait while Claude reads your project register and writes the page, until Claude reports that it is ready.
- Move between the views in the page that opens in your default browser.
On macOS, Claude also copies the page’s address to your clipboard. On Linux and Windows through WSL, Claude tries to open the page and gives you the address if it cannot.
What It Reads and Writes
Section titled “What It Reads and Writes”| File | Read or write |
|---|---|
.claude/state/state.json |
Read for every project |
.claude/state/tasks/[PROJECT_ID].json |
Read for each project that has a task file |
.claude/state/projects/[PROJECT_ID].json |
Read when your workspace keeps project details in separate files |
Documentation/Reports/prima-dashboard.html |
Written, replacing the previous copy |
The page holds all its data, styles and scripts inside the one file and loads nothing from the internet. Git ignores the file, because it is a snapshot and not source material. Archived projects are left out unless they have delivery dates.
If state.json does not exist, Claude stops and tells you to run /setup first.
What the Page Shows
Section titled “What the Page Shows”| View | Contents |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Five summary cards (active projects, total tasks, tasks done, blocked tasks and items due this week), a project table you can filter by All, Active, Paused or Overdue, and a feed of recent activity |
| Timeline | A bar for each project with milestone markers and a line for today. Choose a single project to see its milestones and tasks |
| Project detail | Task cards with status, due dates and dependencies, alongside the project summary, milestones, current focus, next action and recent sessions |
| Dependency map | Each task as a box, with arrows that show which tasks wait on which. Green arrows are satisfied, red dashed arrows are blocked |
| Architecture | A view of the workspace’s file structure and how the project register is organised |
Click a row in the project table to open that project’s detail view. Click any bar, milestone or task for a pop-up with its details, and press Escape or click elsewhere to close it. The page opens in dark mode, and a switch in the sidebar changes it to light mode and remembers your choice.
A task counts as blocked when it depends on another task that is not done. In a base workspace, projects have task counts only if a task file exists for them. Otherwise the dashboard shows no tasks for that project.
