The Daily Briefing

PRIMA Project ManagementCommand: /day

/day starts your working day. It pulls the latest changes to your workspace, checks every project’s due date and builds a briefing from your project register. In this release the briefing opens as a page in your browser, the Today view of the dashboard, and chat carries only a link and the items that need you most.

  1. Open Claude Code in your workspace at the start of the day, before other work.
  2. Type /day and press Enter, then wait for Claude to report that the page is built.
  3. Read the chat report, which lists anything marked overdue and up to five red items.
  4. Open or reload the Today view in your browser to see the full briefing.
  1. Claude runs git pull origin main to bring in changes from your other computers, and reads the date and day name from your system clock.
  2. Claude marks overdue projects, so any in-progress project whose due date has passed becomes overdue. It backs up your register before the change and validates it afterwards.
  3. When your calendar or meetings integration is switched on, Claude fetches events from today to seven days ahead and writes them to Documentation/Reports/prima-dashboard-events.json.
  4. The dashboard build script runs and computes every section of the Today view from your register.
  5. Claude writes up to ten short notes for the page, such as an anomaly a fixed rule would miss or a recommended next action, and builds the page again.
  6. Claude opens the page, Documentation/Reports/prima-dashboard.html, in your default browser so you can read it.

Claude copies only the date, times, title, source and joining link of each event. It never copies event descriptions, attendee lists, passcodes or dial-in details into the events file.

Chat stays short so the page carries the detail, and it shows only the lines below.

WORKSPACE: Example Consulting
Today view built 08:42: Documentation/Reports/prima-dashboard.html
P012 (Spring Workshop) marked overdue — due 2026-10-10
P012 (Spring Workshop) overdue, due 2026-10-10
Follow-up due today: Example Client Ltd: send revised outline

The first line is the workspace banner. The lines after the link are projects Claude marked overdue during this run, then the red items from the build. With nothing red and nothing marked overdue, chat shows the banner and the link only. The Today View explains each panel on the page.

You can change projects straight from the briefing in plain words. Claude writes each change to your register, builds the page again and reports one line per change, so a reload shows the result.

You say What changes
“complete P012” or “archive P012” Status becomes archived, stoppedAt and lastAction clear, lastWorked becomes today
“pause P012” Claude asks for a reason, then sets status to paused with that reason
“resume P012” Status returns to in-progress, and the pause reason and stoppedAt clear
“add project Client Onboarding” A new project with the next free ID and status in-progress

Each change runs the backup script first and the validation script after.

/day gives the briefing in chat when the dashboard build script or the Today part of the template is missing. If the build stops because your register or the template is missing, Claude passes on the message and gives the chat briefing instead. The chat briefing has these sections.

  • Workspace banner: CLIENT WORKSPACE, WORKSPACE or INTERNAL, followed by your workspace name.
  • Where you left off: the summary of your last session and the stoppedAt note of each project that has one.
  • Active projects: a table with a traffic light for each project that is not archived. See Status and Traffic Lights.
  • Upcoming events: your calendar for the next seven days, shown only when a calendar is configured.
  • Priorities and pending items: your immediate and weekly priorities, and any items waiting for a project home.
  • Recommended actions: a ranked list that ends with a single recommended next action.

Claude ranks the recommended actions in this order.

  1. Overdue projects, meaning any project with status overdue or a due date before today.
  2. Projects with a stoppedAt note, so you can pick up where you stopped.
  3. Your immediate priorities, as recorded in the priorities section of your register.
  4. Stale projects, which are in progress but not worked for more than seven days.
  5. Your priorities for this week, as recorded in the same priorities section.

/day reads .claude/config/integrations.json to decide which events to fetch. Set calendar.enabled or meetings.enabled to true, and name the connector in calendar.mcp or meetings.mcp. Each integration also needs its connector set up in Claude Code. When neither is switched on, /day writes no events file, and the calendar panel on the page shows only PRIMA CRM follow-ups, when you have PRIMA CRM.
