Banks and Accounts Packages
PRIMA Bookkeeper reaches your bank and your ledger through adapters. Each adapter follows the vendor’s own published specification, and the repository’s docs/SOURCES.md lists every page used with its retrieval date.
Run on a Live Account
Section titled “Run on a Live Account”Every adapter ships, and the table says which ones have run against a live account. The rest have passed tests written against each vendor’s published specification. Feedback from your first run is welcome.

Bank Feeds
Section titled “Bank Feeds”CSV export. Any bank’s CSV export works. The tool reads the Revolut export from a profile checked against real files. It reads other banks’ exports by detecting the headers, in English and the main EU languages. You confirm the column mapping in csv-inspect before the first pull, and formats lists the profiles that ship with the tool. A CSV can stand in for any configured account, including an API-connected one whose connection is down.
Revolut Business. The API pull splits each foreign-exchange fee into its own line. You register a certificate in Revolut Business under Settings and APIs, and credentials set revolut stores your signing key.
GoCardless Bank Account Data. GoCardless reaches AIB, Bank of Ireland, PTSB and most other EEA banks. Bank of Ireland has separate personal and business logins, so auth gocardless asks which one you use. PTSB gives 89 days of history, so use a CSV export for anything older.
Accounts Packages
Section titled “Accounts Packages”Sage Business Cloud Accounting. A supplier on home VAT posts as a Sage quick entry for a bill, then a payment from the bank account. A supplier outside Ireland posts as a Sage supplier invoice with the goods or services type. Sage refuses quick entries for those contacts, and it works out the reverse charge from the contact’s tax treatment. Bank and currency charges post as other payments against your bank-fee contact. The adapter pays every entry from the bank account, so nothing unpaid reaches the VAT return. Sage has no readable bank feed. Reconciliation therefore builds the bank side from the payments, receipts and other payments on the account.
Xero. A payment out posts as one spend transaction on the bank account, with the bank id in the reference. A sale posts as one receive transaction. A reverse charge maps to the tax type your organisation reports as a reverse charge, because the names differ between organisations. The adapter ignores deleted and voided transactions.
QuickBooks Online. Each payment out posts as one Purchase with one expense line, and each sale as one Deposit, with the bank id in the memo. The adapter suits companies outside the US and needs VAT switched on in the QuickBooks Taxes centre, and doctor checks both. Intuit accepts only an https redirect address, so auth quickbooks --manual takes the code and company id at hidden prompts.
FreshBooks. Purchases post as Expenses coded by expense category, and sales as Other Income. FreshBooks has no per-bank filter, so reconciliation runs across the whole business. The adapter refuses to record a posting whose read-back total differs from the bank amount.
What No Adapter Does
Section titled “What No Adapter Does”No adapter has a method that edits or deletes a ledger entry. On Sage, money in from a supplier is a refund, which Sage records as a credit note and a refund allocation. The adapter does not post refunds in this version, so you key the refund into Sage by hand and record it with link-posting.
Jurisdiction Packs
Section titled “Jurisdiction Packs”A jurisdiction pack holds a country’s VAT rates with their dates, the return form and periods, the meaning of each box, the effect of each VAT treatment on each box, a standard chart of accounts and defaults for common suppliers. Ireland is the first pack, and prima-bookkeeper packs lists the installed packs with their treatments. A tax rate always comes from your ledger, and the pack only says which rates should exist. If someone changes a rate in your ledger, doctor fails until the map is checked.
