Before You Start

Check each item on this page before you install PRIMA Bot. Several steps use the Mac and the phone together, so keep both within reach.

A Mac That Stays On

PRIMA Bot runs on macOS only. It answers your phone only while the Mac is switched on and you are logged in. A desktop Mac such as a Mac mini suits best. The display can sleep, but the Mac itself must stay on.

A MacBook works while it stays plugged in with the lid open, because a MacBook sleeps when its lid closes. PRIMA Bot uses screen and caffeinate, and both programs ship with macOS.

Claude Code and Your Claude Plan

• Claude Code 2.1.238 or later. From that version, a crashed session in server mode comes back when you send it a message. Run claude --version in Terminal to see your version.
• A claude.ai subscription login. Remote Control needs a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan, and it refuses an API key login. Run claude auth status in Terminal to see which login Claude Code is using.
• Remote Control switched on for Team and Enterprise plans. On those plans, the account Owner switches on Remote Control in the Claude Code admin settings before any member can use it.

The Claude App on Your Phone

Install the Claude app from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in to the claude.ai account that Claude Code uses on the Mac. Allow notifications for the app when it asks.

Your Workspace Folder

PRIMA Bot works in one folder, which this documentation calls your workspace. Every session from your phone can read and change the files inside it. A workspace in good order therefore gives better results. A request such as “save it in the Quotes folder for Client A” works only when that folder exists.

The example below shows one way to set out a workspace. The folder names are examples, and a small business may need half of them.

An AI Business OS workspace already has this kind of structure, and PRIMA Bot can use it as it stands.

Caution

Keep your whole home folder out of this role. Claude Code never saves its trust setting for the home folder, and it would put every personal file within reach of a message from your phone. Use a folder inside it, such as Documents/Example Consulting.

A Backup of the Workspace

Sessions started from your phone can change files while nobody watches the Mac. Back up the whole workspace with Time Machine or a cloud drive before you install. Check that the backup runs on a schedule.
